Maurice Sendak
Today I thought I would just focus on Maurice Sendak. I really love his illustrations and he is a favorite author of mine as well. Although he did not write the Little Bear books he does illustrate them and I just love to read them my children as well as have my children read them to me. They read exactly like the Little Bear television show, which is one of the sweetest shows ever. The Little Bear books are below.

The Little Bear books are great first readers for your babies to read from. I think Little Bear was the first book that my 2 year old ever read to me.
Maurice Sendak has some other great books that we just love to read again and again. Where the Wild Things Are was not a favorite of mine immediately, but as I read it again and again it really grew on me. I really like that book now. My children saw the movie and were quite disappointed in it, but we still love the book.
I love the book Chicken Soup With Rice. It is silly and it rhymes and is a great way to teach the months of the year. We never get tired of reading it again and again.
I just read The Sign on Rosie's Door by Maurice Sendak the other day and I really enjoyed it. It is a story about a girl and her friends. It could have easily been a story from my childhood, perhaps that is why I enjoyed it so much. It is about imaginative play, which is my favorite kind of play.
