Book Review - There's A Monster At the End of This Book

Whenever we read a book that my children really like I always enjoy sharing it with others.  I actually found out about this book by asking the clerk at Borders Bookstore what her favorite read aloud was.  She said that The Monster At The End Of This Book was her daughter's favorite story when she was little.  I checked it out from the library and read it over and over again to my little ones.  They absolutely loved this book.

The Monster At The End Of This Book is a really cute Sesame Street story about furry old, lovable old Grover.  During the course of the story he is continually warning the reader that there is a monster at the end of the book and it would be a really good idea to stop reading the book.  He fervently tries to stop the reader from turning the pages by chaining up the pages and building brick walls.  My children especially loved breaking through all the barriers Grover sets up.  The end is especially cute because the monster at the end of the book is only Grover, and therefore there is no reason to be scared.  He goes on a little bit about I told you not to be scared and so forth.  If you get an opportunity to read this story to your child definitely do so.  It is a timeless book that children will enjoy reading again and again.

What's your child's favorite read aloud?
