Book Review - I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean

I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry is a super cute book for toddlers and preschoolers.  I have been enjoying it with my 3 year old for a few weeks now.  I love the big, bright, vivid illustrations.  There is not much text on each page, which is nice.  You can easily point to the words while you read to your child and discuss the pictures.  Below is the first page of the book.

The story is about a giant squid who is bragging throughout the story that he is the biggest thing in the ocean.  Well, until he meets something bigger.  While that might get him down for a moment or two, he soon gets a new perspective and comes back out on top. This book is really cute and can lead to further discussions about having a good attitude while not boasting, as well as trying to always stay positive.  The bold illustrations allow for discussion about sea creatures as well.  This is Kevin Sherry's first book, but I do hope he comes out with more.
