Teach Your Baby to Read Without Electronic Devices

Would you like to teach your baby to read?  I can assure you there is nothing more impressive than seeing a baby read.  It is truly amazing to see how quickly babies can and do learn to read.  Some parents are hesitant to begin a baby reading program because they do not wish to expose their children to the television or the computer, however using electronic devices is not the only way to teach babies to read.  As a matter of fact, babies have been learning to read for decades with paper flash cards.  The use of DVDs and computer programs have just evolved in the last 10 years or so.

Parents that are strictly avoiding these electronic devices can teach their babies to read in a shorter amount of time using flash cards.

Flash Card Magic
There is truly something magical about how fast babies can learn to read with flash cards.  I have found that this simple act of flashing words to my children teaches them to read in a very short time.  I show a set of 10-20 words to my babies, 2 or 3 times a day, and before the week is up, they know all  the words.  Once we master a set, we begin a new set.  Of course, we also point to the words we read in story books, which also helps young children learn to read.

If there was one method I had to choose to teach my babies to read, it would definitely be with flash cards. There is something special about showing babies flash cards.  It requires direct interaction between parent and child.  I have found that this is the most effective way of teaching babies and young children to read.  You can make your own or purchase them from Intellectual Baby.
